Delete your Awaaz account

App: Awaaz (com.awaaz.app) Developer: Awaaz Last updated: 29 September 2026

You can delete your Awaaz account and its data at any time. There are two ways to do it. You do not need an account on this page, and you do not need to sign in anywhere to make the request.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself, in the app (fastest)

  1. Open Awaaz.
  2. Go to Profile (the rightmost tab).
  3. Scroll to Delete Account.
  4. Confirm, then confirm again with Google when the account picker appears.

That second step is Google checking that it is really you before anything is destroyed. Awaaz never sees your Google password. If you cancel at the picker, nothing is deleted.

You then have 30 days to change your mind. Your profile, posts and replies are hidden right away, you are signed out on every device, and we email you the date your account will be permanently deleted (with a reminder 3 days before). Sign back in before then and everything comes back exactly as it was. Otherwise the account is permanently deleted on that date, as described below.

Option 2 — Ask us to delete it

Use this if you have uninstalled the app, no longer have access to the Google account you signed in with, your Awaaz account has been disabled, or you simply prefer not to do it yourself.

Email: awaazappofficial@gmail.com Subject: Account deletion request

Please include:

If you write from the Google address you signed in with, that is normally all we need — we match it against the address stored on the account. If you write from any other address, or the account predates Google sign-in and so has no email address on it, we may ask you one or two questions only you would be able to answer — for example the approximate date you joined, or the title of a post you made — before we proceed. This exists to stop somebody else deleting your account, not to make the process harder than it needs to be.

Our timeline:

What gets deleted

Data What happens
Your profile — member number, display name, email address, bio, photo, follower and following counts Deleted permanently
Your sign-in record — the link to your Google account, and the account identifier, email address, display name and photo URL Google gave us Deleted permanently. Your member number is retired and never reused.
Your follow relationships, in both directions Deleted permanently
Your voice posts with no replies from others Deleted permanently, including the audio file and any attached image
Your voice replies Audio, image and your name deleted permanently; a [deleted] placeholder keeps its place in the conversation (see below)
Your blocks and mehfil memberships Deleted permanently
Your push notification token Deleted permanently

Your Google account is not touched. Deleting your Awaaz account ends Awaaz’s access to it and erases what Awaaz stored; the Google account itself, and everything in it, is unaffected. You can also remove Awaaz from your Google account’s Third-party apps & services settings, but doing that on its own does not delete anything we already hold — for that, use one of the two options above.

What is kept, and why

Data What happens Why
Your voice posts that other people have replied to, and your replies Each becomes a [deleted] placeholder: the audio, image, title, transcript and your name are all removed. An empty record remains, and reply counts on posts do not change. So the replies other people recorded in that conversation are not destroyed or orphaned along with yours. Those recordings are their work, not yours. A placeholder holds none of your personal data.
Boosts, listens and reactions you gave (from 13 October 2026) Kept as anonymous totals; the handle a boost carried is replaced with [deleted] So other people’s posts keep their counts. Nothing on them identifies you.
A scrambled fingerprint of your email address (from 13 October 2026) Kept, linked to your old member number So that if you come back with the same Google account you get the same number again. It can’t be turned back into your email. Email us to have it deleted, and your number is retired for good.
Reports you filed, or that were filed about you Kept in anonymised form for up to 12 months Abuse-pattern analysis and legal defence. Personal identifiers are stripped.
Aggregate analytics counts Kept They cannot be tied back to you.
Encrypted cloud backups Overwritten within 30 days Standard backup rotation. After this the data is unrecoverable.

Deleting only some of your data

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove something.
